My last update was an Instagram post on September 18th. My intention was to post weekly, but “life” got in the way so I retreated in social media silence. I’m now coming clean and here is a quick recap in my 122 day reset goal categories.

Doctors Appts:  Let’s start with my biggest hiccup. I had surgery on September 25th to deal with ongoing issues with lumps and infections in my breast. I intended to keep this private but as it turns out, I am prepping for another surgery on January 3rd. This ordeal has been extremely stressful and I’m trying to stay positive.

Food & Alcohol:  I have lost a total of 21 lbs. since September 1st by dieting and cutting down on my beloved red wine. It hasn’t been easy but I’m headed in the right direction.

Exercise & Play:  Years ago, I used to be a gym-rat who loved group interval classes. In December, I decided to hire an amazing personal trainer (Gabby) to learn how to workout safely in a gym (without injuring my back again.) I am also a self-described pickleball addict and sadly, I haven’t played much since the demo of my country club courts back in May. The big remodel is going to be completed any day now which is just time for me to take a month off of exercise after my second surgery – argh! I am in severe withdrawal and can’t wait to return to the courts.

Beauty & Selfcare:  I learned that Botox, fillers, and laser hair removal are NOT for me. Ok results, but my oh my!  I plan to stick to a less invasive facial and massage routine instead.

Hair & Makeup:  I have accepted that I am unwilling to deal with growing my hair out. Instead, I made a pivot and will hopefully be sporting an edgy, mini-mullet by Spring. Regarding make-up, I still have room for improvement but I’m working on it.

Style & Outfits:  I continue to weed out my closet and keep only clothes that make me feel good. When a fellow designer posted a reel of how she packed for a week in Paris in just a carry-on-bag, I was inspired to cut down on the ridiculous amounts of clothes when I travel. #thanksmichelleharrison #challengeaccepted

Read & Learn:  This one was the easiest of my goals! I love my MasterClass and Audible subscriptions which allow me to continue to learn from people who are living and working at the “top of their game.”

Grief & Family:  This was the hardest of my challenges the last 122 days. Many wonderful people in my life have died this past year. My father being one of them this past June. His Celebration of Life was at the end of October. It was wonderful and unfortunately, horrible at the same time. Family drama and an abundance of resentment surfaced which was the straw that broke the camel’s back. This was a gut-punch for me and I am learning to implement healthy new boundaries.

There you have it. Some big WINS and some big LOSSES in the last 122 days.

With the support from Sherrell, I managed to stay on track and didn’t give up on my personal goals. With the help of Kelli, my design business ran without so much as a stumble. Using work as a distraction, we actually had a very successful year at Design Vision Studio which I am very proud of.

I appreciate all the cheerleaders in my life regarding my reset journey. I am more determined than ever to keep the momentum going. My plan is to continue and take the next 122 days by storm.  I’M BACK & 2024 BETTER BE READY FOR ME!

Cheers to a Happy New Year!

My 122 Day Reset plan includes selecting several “life categories” that I want to make improvements. No complaints - only challenges.

Yesterday, I came across my ‘Frida Dress’ and tried it on (emphasis on "try" - yikes!) When I saw it on the hanger, I thought for sure it would fit.

Well... not so much. I could barely squeeze into it without dislocating my shoulder and poor Frida looked like a stretched out image on silly putty.

To help keep me on track and accountable, I plan to share side-by-side B&A photos wearing this same dress at the end of December... so stay tuned.

MY WINS FOR THE WEEK:

Lost a total of 10 lbs. so far (knees are already feeling better)

Finished reading The Menopause Manifesto by Dr. Jen Gunter Started listening to the podcast "I'VE HAD IT" for a little comic relief Ate healthy, drank tons of water & took all my supplements and vitamins Cut down on wine (only two glasses for the whole week instead of 14+) Reached my 7500 step goal 4 days with 1 day at 10k+ steps Played pickleball and went to the gym (even when I didn’t want to go) Discovered a "Magic Workout Playlist" - see previous IG post

My 122 Day Reset plan includes selecting several “life categories” that I want to make improvements. My goal is to change my mindset, take action and find success each day in the following areas: body, mind, and style.

MY WINS FOR THE WEEK:

Lost 6 ½ lbs.

Went to the doctor

Cut down on wine (only two glasses for the whole week instead of 14+)

Ate healthy (and packed my lunches to ensure I didn’t stray)

Took all my supplements and vitamins

Drank over 64oz of water each day

Reached my 7500 step goal 5 out of the last 7 days

Played pickleball and joined a new gym

Finished reading Screw It, Let’s Do It by Richard Branson

Started reading The Menopause Manifesto by Dr. Jen Gunter

Didn’t cut my own hair once (growing out my hair is torture)

Wore make up every day (not easy in the desert heat)

Removed 12 of my “frumpy” go-to “big girl” outfits from my closet

8 Days Down, 114 Days To Go….
